In a hadith recorded in Saheeh Muslim, Zaid bin Arqam narrated that the Prophetﷺ used to supplicate:
“Why are you so obsessed with reading Nida??!”🤓
I remember the first time I lost a patient. A 3 days old baby. I was fresh out of medical school, interning at a small private hospital in Karachi. It was my first 30 hour shift and it was during Ramadan. The family brought the child because she had severe jaundice and the hospital she was born at did not have blue light. We admitted her in the NICU. Finding an IV line in such tiny limbs was torture. In the end we had to insert a needle into the bone of her leg. I took over the duty of soothing her, suctioning, monitoring her labs, adjusting the saturation monitor (that gave me a heart attack more than once because it moved from it’s place). The mother was still in the other hospital and the father stood at the NICU’s door waiting for his daughter’s fate to be decided while she kept getting worse by the hour. I watched her all night like a hawk, but then we had suhoor and after namaz, as I was sitting by her incubator, I nodded off and it was as if death was sitting there waiting for me to go to sleep to take her away. We resuscitated in vain. I was in shock. For days I kept telling myself “only if I had more control over my sleep! Only if I had had some stronger chai! Maybe I should not have eaten anything for suhoor. Maybe I missed something”
📚Must have books for 0-1 year olds📚
I have always been a morning person and my kids take after me. Most people are shocked when they hear that by 10am half of our day is done 😂. So naturally the favorite part of my day is the time before sunrise 🌅.
It is no big secret that reading is an important part of my family's life. How did I get there?! Again no big secret! because me and my friends are going to share a few tricks we have up our sleeves to raise readers TODAY! If reading is something that you enjoy, or don't but want your kids to, then hop on to our stories and hear what we have to share! Here's a gist of mine:
When a baby is born,a mother is born too.And yet as a community we forget all about the mother while focusing on the person SHE has brought to life.Dear moms, the duty of taking care of that mother is YOURS!there's plenty of people to take care of the baby and u being one of them, need to fill up ur own cup before u start to pour from it.Good postpartum care will set u and baby up for a great start into motherhood and beyond!Today I’ll share some of my top tips for the 4th trimester!!
Happy birthday to my Princess 👑 . The one who made me a mother. The one who can be so mature and throw toddler tantrums at the same time! The girl who is my biggest support system and also the cause for my need for support 😂.
